ProWIN March Luncheon: Access Granted: No Man’s Land – Lessons Learned on the Path to Creating Atlanta’s First Community Space for Women Entrepreneurs @ Dunwoody Country Club
Mar 20 @ 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

In 2014, Atlanta made history as the first city to pioneer a financial investment into one of its most valuable resources – women entrepreneurs. This session will highlight the lessons learned to launch the Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative and its impact to Atlanta, to date.

Attendees will gain practical strategies on defining their worth with confidence while mastering the art of pivoting in business and in life. You will also be equipped with the exact tools and strategies used to help nurture and empower the WEI entrepreneurs from being solopreneurs into job-creating, million- dollar revenue companies.

During this presentation, attendees will discover:

  1. The single, most important lesson we impart on our investor-ready entrepreneurs to help them overcome the fear of asking for money and how to apply it universally.
  2. How to identify areas in your life where you may be unconsciously seeking permission; how to rebel against it and soar.
  3. Actionable ways to show up for other women, and why it is important to do so now, more than ever.

Theia Smith: As the founding Executive Director of Atlanta’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI), Theia leads the only city-endowed initiative of its kind in the nation, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs for economic mobility and inclusion. Entrepreneurs selected for the WEI cohort are equipped with unprecedented access in three core capital areas: financial human and thought – to accelerate them from ‘solopreneur’ business models, to viable high growth ventures while providing employment opportunities for in-need Atlantans.

Within its first year of operation, WEI’s impact included empowering nine of the 15 WEI entrepreneurs to become job creators, two of them to scale ventures beyond $1 million in revenue and the creation of more than 70 new jobs in the Atlanta community.
