Juneteenth National Independence Day 2021: It’s About Time…

The US gets its first new national holiday in 38 years (since MLK Day in 1983) – Juneteeth National Independence Day, also known as Freedom Day or Jubilee Day.

Juneteenth celebrates and commemorates the abolishment of slavery in Texas in 1863, the last of the Confederate states were enslavement continued. The 13th Amendment added the abolishment of slavery to the Constitution, ratified by Congress in 1865 – another two years later, finally!

It’s about time,…  time to reflect, to heal, and to embrace OUR UNITY as humankind!
